'g' Green Design Center is happy to offer AFM Safecoat VOC Free and low-VOC paints and stains. One quality that sets Safecoat apart from most other paint companies is their dedication to your health - the paints, stains, adhesives and sealants offered by the company are all VOC free or contain very low levels of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds)! Just as with most standard paint companies, Safecoat paints are offered in an eggshell, flat, and semi-gloss finish. Along with standard indoor wall paints, your 'g' showroom also regularly stocks Trim and Door Enamel, and the All-Purpose Exterior Satin. Sometimes you need a priming layer before applying your paint: before applying paint to new wallboard, you should apply a layer of Safecoat's low-odor New Wallboard Primecoat HPV; if you're lightening your wall from a darker coat, brush on a coat of low-VOC Transitional Primer from Safecoat so that the color you've chosen comes out true to form. In addition to paints and primers, Safecoat offers a variety of wood stains (Durostain is their most popular), sealers and other finishes, and they are all VOC-free or contain very low levels of VOCs. Their Polyureseal is an alternative to Polyureathane, a very toxic sealant - Polyureseal is an extremely popular product for good reason. The next time you need a clear finish choose this superior water-based option!
Safecoat was the first paint company to offer low toxicity options, and their paints are known to be superior: they are also constantly developing new products, driven lessening and eliminating negative impacts on your health. And, unlike some competitors whose "green" paint option falls short in some categories, we can say that over the course of 25+ years Safecoat has been able to perfect it's paint formula and has come up with a really magnificent product that you will be extremely happy with!We mix the paint on site, so you can walk away with any of these paint options in any of thousands of colors! In addition to an expansive color palette offered by Safecoat, we are able to match and mix any Benjamin Moore color with our Safecoat paints - this unique offer allows you to make an easy switch to a less toxic paint if you're already attached to a color from another company.
Though you may pay a bit more for this very high-quality paint, you're paying for your health and safety. Also, we think that approximately $45-$50 a gallon is quite a reasonable price to pay when your health is the investment. There are a whole host of Safecoat products that we might not stock in our showroom, but can get for you in a pinch. Stop into 'g' today to look at the color palette, talk to an associate, and bring home some paint to start your next project! If any of you have experience using Safecoat paints or stains and want to share, we welcome you to leave a comment!
