Cape & Island Businesses - Going Green!

Cape & Islands Green

Verifies
As the 1st Green Business

Green Design Center, of Mashpee, became the first company to be verified as a Green Business by the newly formed organization, Cape & Islands Green at a breakfast for reception for business leaders on Wednesday, June 30th.

Cape & Islands Green
is an environmental initiative organized by a collective of environmentally-conscious business owners, with support from the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, and the following local Chambers: Hyannis, Falmouth, and Sandwich. The mission of this initiative is to educate and encourage local businesses to engage in more environmentally sensitive practices to lessen our collective impact on the natural environment while creating a healthier workplace and reducing costs.

The program consists of a three level certification process, incentivized by receiving recognition for meeting specific criteria. Benefits include cost-savings from reducing energy usage, leadership in the green business industry, and ensuring the health and beauty of Cape and Islands communities.

Nicole Goldman, Founder and President of Green Design Center, who played a leadership role in bringing Cape & Islands Green to the business community believes that "thinking green in the workplace is thinking smart. Each of these measures improves our environment and the efficiency of our business. It's a win/win and we want to engage Cape & Island businesses to commit to working smart."

For more information visit the Cape & Islands Green facebook page (Their website will be up shortly).

Cape & Islands Green is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Cape & Islands businesses be successful and responsible by reducing their impact on the natural environment while lowering their operating costs and increasing their competitive advantage, and be leaders in their fields.
