"I recycle. Do you?" - America Recycles Day

With just over 3 weeks to plan your own community celebration, we wanted to let you know that November 15th is America Recycles Day!

Organized and promoted by the non-profit Keep America Beautiful and supported by dozens of other sponsors,  the national holiday was incepted 13 years ago in 1997.  Schools use it as a reason to celebrate recycling with their students, community organizations host trash pick-ups and educational campaigns, workplaces decide to embrace in-house recycling programs, and each year thousands of Americans sign the America Recycles Day Pledge to recycle more at home, at work, and on the go.

...how are you going to celebrate?

At 'g' we'll be in the midst of our annual Recycled Art Show, ReMade, which opens tomorrow.

We invite you to celebrate with us by stopping in to our Mashpee showroom to see beautiful works of art by local artists, all made from found objects or recycled and re-purposed items.  Join us Saturday, October 23rd from noon-3pm for the opening reception, or any day through November 27th during regular business hours.  All artwork is for sale with proceeds going to the artist and the 'g' Foundation, which supports renewable energy and environmental education in our community. Stay tuned to the blog over the next few weeks as we'll be highlighting different artists represented in the ReMade show!

Wow, this event would encourage many people to do the same thing. Recycling is essential especially nowadays. People are suffering from many disasters like floods, etc. This is great idea to recycle and to help the environment.
