Green is the new Black...

Celebrate a Green Friday with 'g'!

Before jumping into the "Black Friday" buzz, think about your stuff...Do you really need anything new?  Do these exciting gadgets and gizmos have a planned obsolescence?  Will it be trash in a year?  In a month?  When buying gifts, really take time to make purchases that will be used and that come from responsible sources...and avoid being pulled into buying things just because of a really good sale!

At 'g', we'd like to say no to just being another Black Friday Promotion.  Instead, we're asking you to bring in items to gift (or re-gift) to those in need.  Come to 'g' in Mashpee Commons for "Green Friday" - bring in your gently used housewares to be donated to clients of the Falmouth Service Center and Housing Assistance Corporation in Hyannis.  As an incentive, if you donate to the Green Friday cause you will be entered into a pool to win gift certificates to be redeemed at 'g'!  Certificates will range in amount from $15-$100!  So, do something good for others this Friday - say no to another Black Friday; say yes to "Green Friday" and give to your Cape neighbors!

(*We really like this thoughtful (and relevant) news piece urging businesses and innovators to "shorten the replacement cycle" of electronics on the market by Annie Leonard, creator of "The Story of Stuff".)
