This Wednesday 'g' will be welcoming Bobbi Henley of IceStone, LLC for a continuing education workshop as the final presentation in the Lunch and Learn Professional Series for Spring 2011. Architects, designers, LEED APs, and other professionals are urged to attend this informative workshop entitled Going for the Gold: A Case Study of Recycled Glass and Cement Surfaces with Cradle to Cradle Certification, on Wednesday, May 11th from Noon - 1PM at the 'g' showroom in the North Market of Mashpee Commons (and yes, we'll actually feed you).
Cradle to Cradle® is the most comprehensive and stringent of environmental certifications. This workshop presentation reviews how a manufacturer of recycled glass and cement surfaces achieved the Gold level of certification.
All professionals in the building and construction fields can benefit from this insider's view to an extraordinary surface material, IceStone, and the story of how this NY-based manufacturer created their product line and the environmental and social commitments they addressed in that process. Attendees will learn of the variety of uses, aesthetic attributes, and methods of design for one of the leading new environmental products of the 21st century.
IceStone is a mission-driven company actively reducing the waste stream by redirecting tons of waste glass from landfills to be used in IceStone surfaces. They are the recipient of numerous awards including Interior Design magazine's Best of the Year Merit Award Eco-Products, New York House magazine's Innovative Green Design Awards and many more.
The Lunch and Learn 2011 Professional Series is an educational workshop series of 'g' Green Design Center, for architects, designers, builders, contractors and developers that presents leading edge environmental design topics and invites industry representatives to provide up-to-date building materials information to this professional audience.
Registration is open at www.ggreendesign.com. There is no fee, but registration is required for an accurate lunch count. For more information contact 'g' Green Design Center: info@ggreendesign.com or 508-477-7988.
