ECO-TOILET SUMMIT-II IS COMING!
The very successful Eco-Toilet Summit is back by overwhelming demand.
ET SUMMIT II will take place on Saturday, July 16th at 9 AM until 2 PM
at the East Falmouth Elementary School, 33 Davisville Road, East Falmouth.
People will have a second opportunity to hear the logic behind alternatives to big pipe sewers and ask the practical questions that they might have been afraid to ask at town meeting. Folks can also find out about the cost and maintenance of the alternatives.
The first Eco-Toilet Summit had over one hundred and fifty attendees who were able to hear talks by experts in the field, see various eco-toilets such as the composting, urine diverting and packaging toilets and ask proponents and suppliers questions. Attendees to Eco-Toilet Summit II will also hear experts in the fields of other sewer alternatives such as shellfish propagation, inlet widening and permeable reactive barriers.
The keynote speech will be given by Senator James Eldridge of Acton who is the chair of the Commonwealth’s Water Infrastructure Finance Commission. Senator Eldridge will give a summary of the findings from the WIFC’s hearings from around the Commonwealth. Senator Eldridge will also talk about how alternatives to sewers will fit into the Commission’s recommendations.
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments are available.
The program is sponsored by The Green Center and co-sponsored by Citizens for Economic and Ecological Sustainability (CEES) of Falmouth, Clean Water Action, Falmouth Climate Action Team, GreenCAPE, Sierra Club Cape and Islands Group and the Water Alliance.
